Paper Feeding Problems
Symptom Cause and Solution
Paper is jammed
during printing.
Clear the paper jam. See page 7.2.
Paper sticks together.
Ensure there is not too much paper in the paper
bin. Depending on the thickness of your paper, the
paper bin can hold up to 100 sheets of paper.
Make sure you are using the correct type of paper.
See “Paper Selection” on page 2.2.
Remove paper from the paper bin and flex or fan
the paper.
Humid conditions may cause some paper to stick
together.
Paper fails to feed.
Remove any obstructions inside the product.
Multiple sheets of
paper do not feed.
Different types of paper may be stacked in the
paper bin. Load the paper of only one type, size,
and weight.
When loading paper, do not force the paper down
into the printer.
If multiple sheets have caused a paper jam, clear
the paper jam. See page 7.2.
Paper skews or buckles
Ensure there is not too much paper in the paper
bin. Depending on the thickness of your paper, the
paper bin can hold up to 100 sheets of paper.
Make sure the paper guide does not cause the
paper to bow in the paper bin.
Make sure you are using the correct type of paper.
See “Paper Selection” on page 2.2.
When loading paper, do not force the paper down
into the product.
Make sure the right side of the paper is aligned
with the right edge of the paper bin, and the left
paper guide is set against the left side of the paper.
Transparencies stick
together in the paper
exit.
Use only the transparencies specially designed for an
ink jet printer. Remove each transparency as it exits
from the printer.
