How to register your RTX 4002 to your Panasonic Phone
You are effectively registering your repeater to your Main Panasonic Base Unit as an additional handset so if you do need to refer to
any instructions in your original Panasonic manual, then the section on registering an additional handset describes the procedure
quite well, however, we have tried to simplify the process for you as much as possible here.
These instructions assume you have at least a small amount of familiarity with how the menus work on your phone handset and it is
definitely worth having a quick read through this sheet before trying to follow it through blind.
DO NOT PLUG -IN THE REPEATER YET!
1. Set the range extender up near the unit then move it to its final destination later.
DO NOT PLUG -IN THE REPEATER YET!
2. On your Panasonic Handset you will need to browse from the main menu to "Base Unit Set-up"
and turn on the "Repeater Mode". It is the last option there.
3. Plug the power into the RTX 4002 for between 1-5 seconds and turn it off again; then turn it back
on. The LED slowly flashes showing that the RTX is now in registration mode.
4. On the Panasonic phone base unit, press and hold the PAGE/FIND button for approximately
3-5 seconds until it beeps slowly.
5. The LED on the RTX Repeater should now flash frantically. On your Panasonic handset, push
and hold the DIAL (green) button until the LED (on the RTX) stops flashing, then press 5.
(You are effectively registering the repeater as a handset on the system so any number between
2 and 6 depending on how many handsets you have on your system – if you have two handsets,
then the repeater can be registered as number 3 for example) The LED on the extender will flash
5 times. On your Panasonic handset, Press * and hang up.
6. The repeater will restart and the LED should illuminate and stay illuminated.
7. Now you’re done you need to position the repeater in the most effective position. Unplug the
repeater, move to where you want to extend the range and plug-in the repeater.
If it is in range the LED will remain continuously on when you plug it in.
If it slowly flashes it is out of range so move it closer to the base unit until the light stays on. We
suggest calling the speaking clock and moving away from the base in the direction you want to
use the phone, then when you start to lose the signal, step back towards the base until it’s a
strong clear signal.
If you hear a chirp on the line
This is the extender telling you it is working. Go back to the repeater, switch it off. Switch it on for 1-5
seconds. Switch it off again. Switch it on again. The LED slowly flashes. Switch it off again. Switch it on
again and there is now no tone. DONE!
