3.6.8.1 Provisioning Type
The LIP-6812/LIP-6830 supports two Provisioning protocols:
- Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) – a simple transfer mechanism using UDP but
lacks security and TFTP ports are often blocked at firewalls.
- Hyper-Text Transfer Prorotcol/ Secure (HTTP/S) – employs TCP and using SSL
(Secure Sockets Layer) encryption is a more secure method. In addition, ports
employed by HTTPS are commonly available.
