5) Select a function using the [Next]/[Prev] soft key and press the [ OK ] Softkey (refer to the
Table 3-1 Flexible Button Functions).
6) If the selected function is Speed Dial Function, enter the number for speed dialing and press
the [ OK ] Softkey.
7) Press the button to exit from the menu.
Only Flexible buttons not assigned as a Line can be assigned a function.
In the LIP-6812/LIP-6830, flexible buttons 1 and 2 are assigned as the User extension's
primary and secondary line appearance and can't be assigned as another function.
In the LIP-6812, flexible button 12 is assigned as the Headset On/Off button, and can't
be assigned as another function.
The 48 buttons of a DSS console can be assigned only as Speed Dial Function.
To enter alpha-numeric characters select the [Mode] Softkey (refer to Appendix E. for
the character mapping of Dial pad digits).
3.6.7 Time Configuration
Within the Time Configuration selection, the IP Address or FQDN of the desired Simple
Network Time Protocol (SNTP) server and the local time zone are selected and Daylight
Savings Time (DST) is enabled.
It is recommended that the following SNTP server addresses be used for Time Configuration:
- pool.ntp.org
- clock.via.net
- ntp.nasa.gov
- tick.ucla.edu
3.6.7.1 SNTP Server Address
SNTP is a standard protocol that permits a network device to obtain the network’s current time.
For operation with SNTP, the LIP-6812/LIP-6830 requires the SNTP Server IP Address or
FQDN.
