A DSS Line incorporates three functions:
- DSS – while the Line is idle, the button dials the associated extension.
- BLF– the LEDs of the Line Button display the Line status.
- Call Coverage – when a call is received on the Line, the button accesses the call.
NOTE: The DSS Line must be a Shared Line in the Call Sever.
To assign the Line type:
1) Press the button. If the LCD Menu is locked, use the unlock procedure (refer to
Section 3.3 Lock/Unlock Configuration).
2) Press button, or move cursor to 2.SIP Configuration using the [Next]/[Prev] Softkeys,
and press the [ OK ] Softkey.
3) Enter the Line number or move cursor using the [Next]/[Prev] Softkeys, and press the
[ OK ] Softkey to select a Line.
4) Press button, or move cursor to 8.Line Type using the [Next]/[Prev] Softkeys, and
press the [ OK ] Softkey.
5) Select the Type for the Line using the [Next]/[Prev] Softkeys, and press the [ OK ] Softkey
(Private Line, Shared Line, or DSS Line).
6) Press the [ OK ] Softkey to save your Configuration.
7) Press the button to exit from the menu.
Changing a Line Type requires a reboot of the LIP-6812/LIP-6830; when you leave the
menu, you will receive a Reboot notice.
An asterisk » is displayed in front of the current selection.
3.5.1.9 Extension for DSS Line
When a Line is assigned as a DSS, the associated extension number must be assigned. Note
do not assign a DSS extension number for a Private or Shared Line type.
To assign an Extension for a DSS Line,
1) Press the button. If the LCD Menu is locked, use the unlock procedure (refer to
Section 3.3 Lock/Unlock Configuration).
2) Press button, or move cursor to 2.SIP Configuration using [Next]/[Prev] Softkeys, and
press [ OK ] Softkey.
