If you have any difficulty using your Quartet
Additional Handset, look in this section first
for solutions to the most common problems.
Phone does not ring
Check that the handset ringer volume is not
switched off.
Check that no other connected phones are
off hook.
Check whether you have too many phone
extensions in your home or office. For help
with this, please refer to the section ‘How
many phones can you have?’ in Technical advice
on page 14.
BT can supply a REN booster to support up
to 8 separate pieces of equipment connected
to your line.
Handset does not register to a base unit
Are you within range of the base unit?
No dialling tone
Check that no other extension is in use.
Make sure that you are within range of the
Quartet base unit. Move closer and try again.
Handset beeps
You have new messages recorded on your
answering machine. Play them and the
beeping will stop.
Your handset may be out of range and you
will need to move closer the the base unit.
Batteries may be low, ensure that they are
charged.
Reception is poor during a call
You may need to change the channel. You can
do this during the call.
Your handset may be out of range and you
will need to move closer to the base unit.
