Remote access to message

I'm following the instructions in the manual to access message remotely, but it's not working. When I listen to the greeting, then enter the 3 digit access code, I get three short beeps and then nothing. The remote menu doesn't play, and it won't accept any other commands. After about 2 minutes, it just hangs up. Is there something I'm missing? Or some adjustment on the machine that is not set right? Help? Thanks, Paige
